India's tour of Bangladesh scheduled to be played from August 17 is likely to be called off as per recent reports in Cricbuzz. The buzz is that the tour is likely to cancelled with the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) making very slow progress towards it.
The stretched political relations between the two countries is also being seen as the reason why the series might get cancelled. As of now, the BCB has paused the sale of media rights and is hopeful that the series might be played at a later date.
The series was India's first bilateral series in Bangladesh since they last toured the country in 2015-15 under MS Dhoni's captaincy. Bangladesh toured India in 2024 for a T20I series that was won by India.

BCB Interested In Buying Media Rights For Pakistan Series
As of now, the BCB is selling the media rights for a three-match T20I home series against Pakistan, scheduled from July 17 to 25. Initially, it had plans to sell media rights for two years between 2025-27. However, a BCB official has confirmed Cricbuzz that they are not rushing with the idea.
"They have informed us that there is no India series. After announcing the tender, they did not provide the ITT. They are selling, for now, only for the Pakistan series," an Indian broadcaster told this website on Thursday. The ITT, or Invitation to Tender, was originally scheduled to be available from June 15 to July 6. However, the sale of the document - upon payment of USD 3,000 - has now been deferred.
"The date for the India series hasn't been fixed yet. They (the BCCI) said it's difficult for them to come in August. This is part of FTP," the BCB official said. the BCB official further added.
Bangladesh are scheduled to play 49 home matches till 2027 including 8 Tests (wo each against Ireland, Pakistan, West Indies and England), 20 ODIs and 21 T20s. AS of now, the BCB is only willing to buy rights for the Pakistan series as said above.
