Reportedly, it was Indian coach Gautam Gambhir who influenced Nitish Rana to move back to Delhi after leading Uttar Pradesh for a couple of years. Rana has evolved into a leader himself, which also led to him captaining KKR in a few matches during IPL 2024.

This was first reported by CricBlogger, who sourced the information from close circles within the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).

"It will be interesting to see when exactly the transfer takes place," a UPCA source told CricBlogger. "It's more or less certain that Rana is leaving UP."
