Former KKR captain Nitish Rana is said to return to play for Delhi in the upcoming domestic season after his 2-year stint with Uttar Pradesh. Nitish Rana’s move back to Delhi is in the final stages of the process, with a few documents still pending to confirm the formal transfer.
Nitish Rana’s Return to Delhi Nears Completion
Reportedly, it was Indian coach Gautam Gambhir who influenced Nitish Rana to move back to Delhi after leading Uttar Pradesh for a couple of years. Rana has evolved into a leader himself, which also led to him captaining KKR in a few matches during IPL 2024.

This was first reported by CricBlogger, who sourced the information from close circles within the Uttar Pradesh Cricket Association (UPCA).
"It will be interesting to see when exactly the transfer takes place," a UPCA source told CricBlogger. "It's more or less certain that Rana is leaving UP."

CricBlogger also reported being informed of Gautam Gambhir’s influence on Rana’s decision. Delhi needed a leader for the upcoming season, and Rana’s return aligns perfectly, as he is expected to lead the team.
