Delhi Capitals (DC) are taking on Mumbai Indians (MI) in match 63 of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season at the Wankhede Stadium. While everyone expected Axar Patel to walk with rival skipper Hardik Pandya at the toss, it was not to be. To everyone's amusement, Faf du Plessis walked when the toss happened.
Ravi Shastri, who was present at the toss asked du Plessis about Axar's absence. The Protean replied that the southpaw is badly down with a viral fever, and that's why he wont be playing this match.

Faf du Plessis-led DC win the toss opt to chase
Speaking about the MI vs DC game, Faf du Plessis won the toss and elected to field first. With the Wankhede pitch favoring chasing, the South African is trusting his batters to deliver the goods. Also, in the six matches played before this game, teams chasing have won five matches. Only one match the MI vs RCB game was one by the side defending, with RCB winning by 12 runs.

This is a do-or-die match for DC, as a loss here will dash their playoff hopes. A win will take them to fourth on the points table with 15 points.
