As expected and as it always happens, Virat Kohli yet again played anchor innings to perfection in the final of the 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season against Punjab Kings (PBKS). At the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad, King Kohli stood tall as he anchored the RCB innings and enabled them to post a challenging total of 190 runs. While he scored 43 runs, he was there at the crease till the 14th over and allowed the other batters to play aggressively.
Sent into bat first, RCB started well as Phil Salt - their power play enforcer took on Arshdeep Singh. However, just when he threatened to take the game away from the RCB, he was out for 16 runs as Kyle Jamison struck. After that wicket, Mayank Agarwal and Kohli steadied the ship and kept the scoreboard ticking by mixing caution with aggression. However, PBKS made sure they kept chipping away with regular wickets as they dismissed Agarwal (24) and skipper Rajat Patidar for (26) runs.
