As tensions between India and Pakistan are on the rise, former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has delivered a message of peace and solidarity.

The cross-border tension has impacted ongoing cricket in both countries. Along with that, several overseas players playing in both the leagues are also unsure about their own safety and security.

The BCCI has postponed the IPL 2025 as of now after the Dharmasal match between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) was brought to a halt. The fans were asked to evacuate the stadium, with a special train being arranged for the travel of players from Pathankot to Delhi.

Cricket in Pakistan was also impacted by the events that transpired in the cross-border firing. The PSL 2025 has been moved to the UAE, with reports of the overseas players willing to leave Pakistan urgently.

Ambati Rayudu's Message On Twitter

In this volatile scenario, former Indian cricketer Ambati Rayudu has delivered a message of peace.

“An eye for an eye makes the whole world blind.” Let’s remember — this isn’t a call for weakness, but a reminder of wisdom. Justice must stand firm, but never lose sight of humanity. We can love our nation fiercely and still hold compassion in our hearts. Patriotism and peace can walk hand in hand," wrote Rayudu on his official Twitter handle.

BCCI's Statement On Postponement Of IPL 2025

Previously, on May 9, the BCCI decided to postpone the ongoing IPL season by a week. In a statement, it clarified that the season is being postponed by a week in the wake of the recent incidents that happened in the past 24 hours.

"Further updates regarding the new schedule and venues of the tournament will be announced in due course after a comprehensive assessment of the situation in consultation with relevant authorities and stakeholders," the BCCI said in the release.
"The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders following the representations from most of the franchisees, who conveyed the concern and sentiments of their players, and also the views of the broadcaster, sponsors and fans; while the BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders," the BCCI further said.

The decision was taken by the IPL Governing Council after due consultation with all key stakeholders and taking several parameters into account.
