In a major development regarding the commencement of Asia Cup 2025, BCCI has taken a step forward by agreeing to join the first official meeting in Dhaka via an online call, following requests from PCB.
BCCI to Attend ACC Meeting Online on July 24 After Initial Reluctance
According to the Times of India, the meeting will be headed by ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, with BCCI Vice President Rajeev Shukla attending online. The meeting is scheduled for Thursday, July 24, 2025.
Initially, it was reported that BCCI was reluctant to attend the meeting in Dhaka due to political tensions in recent months. However, after multiple requests from ACC Chairman Mohsin Naqvi, BCCI has agreed to discuss the future of the tournament.

Mohsin Naqvi Lands in Dhaka
Ahead of the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi arrived in Dhaka, Bangladesh, where he was warmly welcomed by the President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Aminul Islam Bulbul, who greeted him with a bouquet of flowers. Bangladesh shared this news via their official X handle.
"The President of the Bangladesh Cricket Board, Aminul Islam Bulbul, welcomed the President of the Asian Cricket Council, Mohsin Naqvi, with a bouquet of flowers. Mr. Naqvi arrived in Dhaka ahead of the ACC Annual General Meeting, marking a significant moment for Asian cricket," BCB stated.
The ACC general meeting is expected to discuss potential dates for the competition, along with Pakistan’s venue arrangements. This edition of the Asia Cup will be held in India, but it was initially announced that Pakistan will play all their matches in the UAE. Confirmation on this is expected following tomorrow’s meeting.
