Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) have signed New Zealand wicketkeeper batter Tim Seifert as the replacement for Jacob Bethell for the remainder of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) season. Bethell is set to leave for national duties. The replacement will be effective from Saturday, May 24.
Seifert comes with a vast amount of experience as he has played 66 T20Is and has scored 1540 runs against his name. Also, his strike rate of above 150 is a massive advantage for RCB in the power play. Bethell played only a handful of matches for RCB as they preferred Phil Salt before he got injured and was not available for the second half of the IPL 2025 season.

It remains to be seen if RCB straightaway draft Tim Seifert in the playing XI for RCB's remaining two league fixtures.
