India started Day four slightly ahead of hosts England as they needed 135 runs with six wickets in hand. KL Rahul got to a start and was looking set to play an anchor role. However, what transpired was nothing short of horror, as the opening batter was dismissed within half an hour of play, as England skipper Ben Stokes trapped him LBW. Initially, on-field umpire Sharfuddoula gave the Indian batter not out.
However, Stokes was convinced that it was out and immediately reviewed the decision. Turns out, the ball tracker showed three reds, and Rahul was out for 39 runs. The decision did not impress Gavaskar, as he was doing commentary. The former opening batter lost all the belief in DRS technology after what he saw. The expert felt many decisions went against India while the hosts were on the right side of it.

"Surprisingly, this one didn’t bounce that much. When Indian bowlers were bowling, balls were going above the stump mostly in reviews. I am questioning the technology," Gavaskar said.

Umpire Paul Reiffel in firing line as fans fume with anger
On-field umpire Paul Reiffel faced a lot of flak for the ongoing third Lord's Test, as his contentious call against Joe Root left many baffled. Ravi Ashwin also did not like the Australian's umpiring. The umpire also gave Shubman Gill out on-field on what looked like a dicey call. Speaking about the match, the hosts owned the first session by scalping four wickets.
