Rishabh Pant has been in excellent form for India during the ongoing Test series against England. The 27-year-old wicketkeeper-batter scored centuries in both innings of the series-opener in Leeds. In the next two matches, he made useful scores of 25, 65, 74, and 9. Having scored 425 runs in six innings so far, Pant is currently the second-highest run-scorer in the series.
With two more Tests to go, Pant will be hoping to continue his good run. India will be banking on him in the next match to stay alive in the series as they currently trail 1-2.
Meanwhile, he also has an opportunity to surpass Rohit Sharma in the upcoming Test scheduled at Emirates Old Trafford in Manchester from July 23.

Rishabh Pant Set to Surpass Rohit Sharma’s WTC Record
Rishabh Pant now has 2677 runs from 66 innings in the World Test Championship (WTC) history and is just 39 runs behind Rohit, who scored 2716 runs in 69 innings. If Pant plays in the Manchester Test and gets those runs, he will become India’s highest run-getter in WTC history.
Rohit played many important innings at the top of the order but is now retired from Test cricket. Pant, on the other hand, has made his runs in the middle-order and often in challenging conditions, both at home and away.
The list of India’s top run-scorers in WTC also includes Virat Kohli (2617 runs in 79 innings), Shubman Gill (2500* runs in 65 innings), Ravindra Jadeja (2212* runs in 64 innings), and Yashasvi Jaiswal (2031* runs in 42 innings).

Finger Injury Not Serious, Rishabh Pant Set to Play in Manchester
Pant suffered a finger injury while wicket-keeping in the Lord’s Test. Dhruv Jurel kept the wickets in his absence.
However, captain Shubman Gill has informed that the injury is not serious and Pant is likely to be fit for the fourth Test in Manchester.
"Rishabh went for scans, and there’s no major injury. So he should be fine for the next Test," Gill said as quoted to the media.
India lost the previous Test by 22 runs and will be aiming to bounce back at Emirates Old Trafford.
