Captaincy Stint For Harshit Rans In DPL 2025

The auction for the tournament was held earlier this month. The auction for the men’s tournament was held on July 6 and the women’s tournament was held on July 7. Meanwhile, the captaincy for Harshit Rana with his franchise team comes at a point where he missed out on an opportunity to play Test cricket for India in the ongoing series against England.

Harshit was a part of the India A side that played against England Lions and the senior Indian men’s team before the Test series started. However, with the likes of Arshdeep Singh and Akash Deep getting injured, the selectors decided to include Anshul Kamboj ahead of Rana. In fact, the Delhi pacer was sent back after the A series ended.

Former Indian batter Aakash Chopra has questioned Kamboj’s selection ahead of Rana, given that the selectors were looking to be persistent with the pacers who played the initial games.

“It’s very interesting. There was a lot of chatter about Anshul Kamboj. He did well for India A as well, but when there was an opportunity earlier, the team management chose Harshit Rana first. Anshul was sent back home, and now we are learning about his name again,” Aakash said on his YouTube channel.
“Harshit Rana is not there. Now you have to wonder, what actually goes on? How do you determine who to keep and who to let go of? If you talk about performances for India A, Anshul’s performance was better, but you kept Harshit Rana looking at continuity,” he added.
