With the much-awaited Delhi Premier League (DPL 2025) auction just a few days away, Purani Dilli 6 has confirmed their sole retention. In an unsurprising move, the franchise has decided to retain India's Test vice-captain, Rishabh Pant. The southpaw is set to don the yellow and blue jersey of Purani Dilli 6 and won't be part of the mega auctions. The auction is scheduled to take place on July 6.

However, the wicketkeeper-batter's participation in the DPL 2025 season still persists. If he does play in the T20 league, he is likely to yet again lead Purani Dilli 6. The franchise were never in doubt to retain their only retention. Pant is India's one of the biggest match winners and can turn the game on its head within a blink of an eye.

For the unversed, Rishabh Pant had earlier stated that DPL has helped identify a lot of talented and young players from remote areas. Players like Priyansh Arya, Digvesh Rathi, and Prince Yadav made their IPL debuts due to impressing in DPL. Pant is optimistic about unearthing more such players during this season of DPL.
